Over 20 International Chili Society Sanctioned Chili Cooks, 20 local restaurants compete in five different cooking divisions.  Chilies are judged by local celebrities and the winner moves on to compete in the International Chili Society cookoff.  Categories include Red, Chili Verde (green), salsa, People's Choice and Homestyle.  For more information on the requirements for each category visit the International Chili Society's website.  This coming year's event, the second annual RED APRON CHILI COOKOFF will be held on Saturday, February 23 at Tanger 2 Outlet.  Children activities will be available as well as entertainment and a art/craft show.  To compete in the cookoff contact BSH at 843-757-8000.  Entrance is free.  And for $5 donation to Bluffton Self Help you can taste some of the best chili in the lowcountry and beyond.  Cooks come from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina to compete.  This is a regional sanctioned chili cookoff.
